==Background and Education==
Shahzada Iftikhar Uddin was born on 15 August 1969 into the ruling family of Chitral. He is the great-grandson of His Highness Sir Shuja Ul Mulk, the Mehtar of Chitral. He received his Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from State University of New York Binghamton, USA, and his MBA in International Business from the University of Birmingham–UK.
He specializes in economic growth, value chain project management, workforce and private sector development and has worked as Director Value Chain and Program Director in major USAID funded projects in a professional career spanning 14 years. The US based organizations he has been affiliated with include ABT. Associates, JE Austin Associates, and Citizens Network for Foreign Affairs (CNFA) and Canada based Mennonite Economic Development Associates (MEDA). He also worked with National Rural Support Programme (NRSP) and Aga Khan Rural Support Programme. He has undertaken consultancy work with USA based ShoreBank International (SBI) on studies mandated by the State Bank of Pakistan.
